The Bone & Joint Innovation Awards 5 out of 5 stars

Reviewed by: murrayflett, Apr 15 2007 12:23AM

After being shortlisted in the Bone & Joint Innovation Awards, I had to present my idea to a panel of some of the top orthopaedic surgeons in the UK and was given free advice on how to take my idea forward. I also attended an event called the i2 Event which was a full one day conference, chaired by Professor Angus Wallace and I sat in a group of nearly 50 orthopaedic surgeons and discussed patents and prototypes, something that I was quite naive about. The process of developing your ideas is much more complex than I thought and at least I now understand the basic rules, which means i feel more confident in choosing my preferred option. The Awards were free to enter although you have to pay if you want to attend the i2 Event. The fee is just a normal conference event fee, I cant remember exactly but I think it was 150. I must admit though it was worth it though as I got to meet Edward DeBono, whose books I have read and he is superb.
